"Seven Card Stud Hi Lo: A Stud Poker Game"

Seven card stud hi lo is played with 2-8 players at a table. It can be played with nine or ten players, it's easier to play with a maximum of eight players.

This is a split pot stud poker game.

The hi hand wins half of the pot, while the lo hand wins the other half. There can be ties for the lo and hi. Say one player has K-K-K-Q-Q for hi and two players have A-2-3-4-5 for the lo. The hi hand gets 50% of the pot while the other two players get 25% of the pot each.

The deal starts when...

the dealer has shuffled and all players have anted.

The dealer deals clockwise. Each player gets three cards, one at a time. The first two are face down, the third one face up.

The deal always starts with the first person to the left of the dealer. The player with the lowest up card brings in the betting for an amount determined BEFORE the game starts.

Action continues clockwise, until all players have acted on their first three cards. The dealer then burns a card and deals a fourth card face up to all active players. The next two cards are dealt face up and the seventh face down, with a betting round after each card.

If on seventh street there are not enough cards to deal to each player, the dealer will put one card face up in the middle of the table, and the remaining players will use that card as their seventh card.
