"Poker Paintings: The Process Before The Purchase"
Poker paintings add style to any wall. Whether it’s classic or neo, for you or someone else its sure to be a great room addition.
But how do you find that perfect painting? By going through a small decision process! This page will go over some factors to help you find a great painting.
The size that fits
Paintings come in all sizes from pocket size to a whole dwelling wall. Sometimes various shapes too!
So its best to choose a space BEFORE you purchase a painting. Get rough dimensions of the space so you know how big you can go. Most spaces require a rectangular painting. Paintings in other shapes (circles, triangles and multiple edged) fit well in the right spaces. Some spaces may call for a unique shape, use discretion!
Subject of painting
The overall subject of the painting will be poker. Inside the theme of poker there are many sub genres you can chose from. The subject could be cards, chips, poker players. The painting could capture the range of emotions that playing poker can produce.
There are many subjects to choose from and will ultimately be up to you. It will also depend on...
What feel do you want?
Great paintings evoke emotion and can put you into a certain "mood".
When searching poker paintings keep in mind how you feel when you see the painting. If that’s the feel and mood you want that’s your painting. If not keep searching.
Also keep in mind that other people will admire your painting too, and you may want to think about the emotion and mood you want the painting to instill in them. But if your painting is in a PRIVATE area, you don’t need to think about how other people view the painting.
Price tag
This may have the largest affect on what painting you get.
Figure out what amount you can splurge on your painting.
You can also pick the painting you want and save up for it.
The point is don’t break the bank.
Plus how much you spend doesn’t always dictate the quality of the painting. If you like the painting AND it’s inexpensive, then that’s better than a Monet (he didn’t paint any poker themes, although it would have been interesting!).
Original poker paintings can go for $200 and up. Sometimes prints of the same painting can cost as little as $8 (depends on the size).
If you cant afford an original painting a print of it is just as grand.
Go with your gut!
Sometimes you find a painting and go "I gotta have it!" in this case the only decisive factor is the price and that’s subject to going out the window too.
When (or IF) you find this painting, don’t hassle with your search any more. Go with your gut and get the one that screams at you. In the end its likely to be the painting you would have got anyways.
Good luck!
