Royal flush. A royal flush is un-beatable. It’s an ace high straight with all cards of the same suit. (Ac-Kc-Qc-Jc-10c) Straight flush. A straight flush is five cards in sequence all of the same suit. (8h-7h-6h-5h-4h) Four of a kind. Four of kind or quads, is four cards of the same value. (9h-9c-9d-9s-10s) Full house. Three cards of the same value combined with two cards of the same value. (Qh-Qd-Qs-8s-8c) Flush. Five cards of the same suit. (Kh-10h-7h-3h-2h) Straight. Five cards in sequence. (8d-7s-6s-5c-4s) Three of a kind. Three matching cards. (Ah-Ad-As-Kh-2d) Two pair. Two sets of matching cards. (Jd-Js-7c-7d-10d) One pair. Two cards of the same value. (6c-6d-Jh-5d-3s) High card. Highest card wins if no one makes one of the above hands. (Kd-10c-8s-4s-2s) Note there are subcategory’s in each poker hand ranking above. I can’t go over them because there are 2,598,960 five-card combinations, that’s too many to put every single one on this page. The higher the hand in the subcategory, the better the hand is. Always read the board in community card poker games and stud poker games. You’ll have a better chance of winning if you know what the best possible hand is and how your hand ranks compared to it. This concept is explained more on what beats what in poker and winning poker hands. A majority of the time a royal or straight flush isn’t even possible. If the cards on the board are 4c-5s-8h-9c-Kc, the best possible five card hand would be an Ace high flush. If you hold Kh-Ks for a set, you have a strong hand, but not the nuts. You actually have the 10th best possible hand. Always rank your hand compared to what the best possible hand is, using cards on the board. The qualifier is, your low has to be eight or better. Omaha high low and seven card stud hi lo are the only games that use this qualifier. All other low games are played for the lowest high card.
