"Poker Art On A Budget"

Poker art spans the range of art forms from paintings and pictures to sculptures and memorabilia. Like all art pokers’ can cost very little to extremely lavish depending on the “eye of the beholder”.

When you search for that perfect poker related art piece, shopping on a budget can present challenges. Finding a sculpture or painting you want that’s in your price range is pure LUCK!

Most times you’ll discover the one you want then find out the price tag is WAY TO HIGH.

So what are some ways to stay under budget?

Buy smaller than the original. Usually paintings, drawings, photos etc. come in various sizes. The smaller sizes are always cheaper. Sometimes the smaller size really isn’t that much smaller but the price IS.

Your not sacrificing much by sizing down plus its still a great piece of art.

Get a print instead of the original. You can normally find a print of an original painting at a FRACTION of the cost.

The only down side is you cant tell your friends “its an original”, but it will still look just as good when its framed and hanging on your wall.

“I’ll find my own frame, thank you!” should be your motto if you have the choice of getting your art piece framed or unframed.

Here’s why: the frame they sell is overpriced to begin with. You can find a descent frame that fits your art for less than whom ever is selling it.

Add “Labor cost” for putting the art piece into the frame (which can be done by you).

Tack these two factors onto the base price of your art and you’ll find a DIY attitude pays off.

Shop around to get the best price for what you want.

Some may consider this a “no-brainer” but to those that do, abide to the mantra of BUY LOW. Too often impatience kills the spirit of finding a great buy.

You know exactly what you want, you find it, pay whatever they want for it, then next week find the same thing for way less.

Or even worse find it around the corner from the place you just bought it! Sellers compete for YOUR BUSINESS. Which means if two people are selling one thing one of them is selling it cheaper.

This is true when it comes to paintings, prints, and photos. Once in a while you’ll stumble upon avery unique and un-replicated piece of art.

Use your judgment. It maybe worth WAY MORE than the asking price, making it a deal you cant pass.

Make your own poker art. This can be as simple as framing a poker magazine with your favorite poker player on it or as difficult as creating a sculpture out of poker chips.

Creativity goes a long way when doing it yourself. So have fun and remember that art is in the eye of the beholder.

Good luck!
