"What Are Micro Limits?"

Login to ANY online poker site scroll down and you’ll find tables upon tables of micro limits. These hundreds of tables feature stakes from $0.01-$0.02 to $0.50-$1.00.

Every poker game is offered at these stakes.

These tables are best for new poker players that want to “get their feet wet” and build their poker skills while taking little financial risk.

Some games can be bought into for as little as $0.40. Although a minimum buy-in is un-recommended.

This is also a great place to start with a small bankroll and attempt to build it until you can play for larger stakes.

Some poker sites have a MINIMUM DEPOSIT of $10. You could start with a $10 bankroll and play stakes small enough where you wouldn’t put your entire bankroll at risk.

Low stakes are the place to learn and master a poker game you’ve never played before.

Once you’ve mastered one stake move up to the next and master that one. Moving up once you’ve mastered gets you practicing poker bankroll management.

Tackle micro limits with a tight and solid overall strategy.

Show them your big guns and get aggressive.

HOLD back on huge bluffs. When it only costs players another $0.20 to see your cards they’ll be happy to see them for that amount. Which makes bluffs at these stakes an unprofitable play.

For example lets say you have Ac-Kc, the best non-pair starting cards. You decide to raise on the button with them (which is a standard play and get called by the big blind and a player whom limped in before you.

The flop comes Qs-8h-5c and the two players check to you so you BET. The big blind folds and the limper calls.

Now the turn is a 5h making the board Qs-8h-5c-5h. What you should ask yourself on the turn is “what could this player have?” and “will they fold if I bet again?”

The answer to question #1 is they could have 7-6 for a straight draw or some sort of queen more than likely they have a queen they’re unsure of betting. Answer to question #2 is UNLIKELY.

Which makes betting the turn and river unprofitable, unless you hit an ace or king on the river.

Show players the best hand every time your in the pot and you’ll do well.

Good luck
