Lazy pineapple strategies!

One of your first lazy pineapple strategies should be which hole cards you play. Since you don't discard in lazy pineapple, it's important that your hole cards work together to make three two card combinations.

You can ONLY USE TWO of your three cards to make a poker hand, trying to use all three will get you in trouble and you'll lose money!

Hands that contain big cards, with two of the same suit, are the hands you want to play.

Ac-Kd-Qc is a great hand, it makes three two card combinations, Ac-Kd, Ac-Qc and Kd-Qc. A hand like Js-10s-9c, will hit a lot of flops and all the cards work together. Even hands like 6d-5d-4h are playable in late position or in the blinds.

Hands that contain pairs are also playable.

The earlier your position, the bigger your pair needs to be. Your third card should work with your pair though, in order to play it.

Ac-Ad-Kd, Kh-Ks-Jh, Qs-Qd-kd are hands that you want to play in early positions, all other pairs can be played from middle and late positions. In the blinds you can play any pair, as long as it's cheap.

Once you make it to the flop, you'll need to make a few decisions. As part of your lazy pineapple strategies, you need to decide if you hit the flop.

Say your hole cards are Kc-Qd-Jc, if the flop comes Qc-10c-9h, you've hit the flop really hard! Your hand makes the nut straight and you have a straight flush draw, You should bet and raise/re-raise as many times as possible.

If the flop comes Ah-9d-4s, your hand completely missed the flop. You should check your hand, if there is a bet, muck your hand.

If you hit the flop continue, if you miss, muck your hand and move on to the next hand. That's the basics of playing your hand on the flop in lazy pineapple.

As part of your lazy pineapple strategies, you should try to decide what cards your opponents hold.

Do they have a draw, made hand or are they bluffing?

In the first example, you have the best hand, the only hands your opponents could have would be two pair, straight draws, sets or smaller flush draws, that's why it's important to bet and raise as many times on the flop as you can.

If you can't push those hands out, make them pay to hit their draws.

Your hand missed the flop in the second example, so your opponents have to have you beat.

Unless they're bluffing!

King high won't win many pots though, it's best to fold and wait for a better situation, when your hand hits the flop.

Figuring out what your opponents have on the flop will make your decisions on the turn and river much easier.

The turn is where you have to make a couple more decisions. First you need to decide if you still have the best hand.

One of your lazy pineapple strategies should be to pay attention to what your opponents are doing.

Are they checking and calling? Are they betting into you and raising?

If they are just checking and calling when you bet then you probably have them beat. If everyone folds when you bet, you have the best hand, and you win the pot!

If your opponents are betting and raising, then it's very possible that YOU'RE beat, you should fold your hand.

Another way to figure out if you have the best hand or not, is to remember what hands you put your opponent on, on the flop.

Did you put them on straight or flush draws? Did you put them on two pair or a set?

If the draws get there on the turn and you can't beat them, you should slow down and consider folding if you feel you're beat.

If you feel you have the best hand, bet/raise/re-raise as many times as possible, so your opponents that are drawing, pay to get their draw!

Play on the river is pretty simple.

If you have the best hand or feel you do, bet!

If a draw gets there on the river and you think someone was drawing, it's best to check and call.

I know it sounds crazy to call, even when you think you're beat, but there will usually be enough money in the pot on the river, to justify a call.

As part of you lazy pineapple strategies if the pot is 10-1 or better, you need to call.

There are three situations where I wouldn't call on the river though.

The first would be if there are three or more players in the pot and they're all raising, one of them is bound to have you beat, unless you have the nuts, then you should raise them back!

The second is if I know that there is no way the player that raised me, could raise me, unless they had me beat.

I would have to be %110 sure they had me beat, but i might still call if the pot was 15-1 or better.

The third situation in which i would not call a player on the river, is when the pot is giving me less than 10-1. If the pot isn't giving good odds to call, then it's not worth calling.

Those are a few lazy pineapple strategies, I hope you enjoy this poker game and win lots of money!

Good luck!
